Point Grey Village Business Association

The Point Grey Village Business Association is a BIA (Business Improvement Association) which includes all businesses on West 10th Avenue, from Discovery St. to Tolmie St.

A BIA is a non-profit association of commercial property owners and business tenants who join together to promote and improve the economic vitality of their business district. The BIA is managed by a volunteer board comprised of property owners and tenants.

BIAs obtain funding through a special commercial property tax, much like a Local Improvement Levy. Each commercial property owner’s share of the annual BIA budget is proportionate to their share of the total taxable value within the BIA boundaries.  BIA funds are used to implement BIA activities, including marketing, street beautification and safety and security initiatives.

The BIAs play an important role in business and tourism development, and street enhancement for their areas.  They often work in partnership with the City of Vancouver and community organizations, and are committed to making the area enjoyable for patrons, locals and visitors.
